Text on the Benfits of MRP - On time ordering
of required parts:

Correct Parts ordered on time Collation / rolling together of parts
orders (by supplier and time
bucket) Realistic planning of work (i.e. achievable Works orders)
Before and after Stock take by line item (but analyse by part group).
Number
of lines in Stores for which there has been no demand over the last
3 months (say). Do a stock take immediately prior to MRP system rollout
in Stores and multiply the count figures by cost values held in the
Parts file. For stocked (non-consignment?) items this is the number
of times that the normally stocked amount is used in a 12 month period.
(It's a measure of whether you are carrying too much or too little
stock). Count / estimate the number of items (line items?) within
Gash. 'Gash'
as a Stores concept / accepted working practice should be eliminated.
Percentage (/ number) of parts missing from kits when requested from
Stores. Recent historic data exists for this measure. Reasons for
calls to a sample of suppliers could be tracked for a period. Company
data
